Spent 22 years in Commercial Banking, ending my career as the Divisional Manager Business Loans.
Started GroFin Managers, a multi-national Fund Manager as a shareholder and part of the EXCO team. Expanded GroFin from one office in SA with 5 staff to 20 offices and 140+ staff operating in 18 Countries, and one of the largest impact investors globally. Increased Funds under Management from USD 7m in 2006 to more than USD 450m in 2021.
Winner of various Credit Risk Management Awards in 2004 and 2005 as well as the Africa Investor Awards in 2016 and 2018.
At GroFin in my role as Chief Investment Officer, established the Investment Department, performed due diligence investigations on new Countries of operation throughout Africa and the MENA region, registered the various legal entities in terms of local legislation. Opening bank accounts, drafting, and implementing relevant policies and procedures and growing the loan book. Also served and represented GroFin on the Advisory Committees of the various European Investors.
Founded a Consultancy Business, CD Consulting (Pty) Ltd, representing various clients that require funding, matching them with funders that are best suited for their needs, facilitating mergers and acquisitions and also serve on Boards of several clients.
